QUALIFICATIONS 

My experience in Education is vast. I have a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Child Development, a Master’s degree in Learning Disabilities and Special Education. I am currently working on my PhD in Special Education at Texas Tech. University. I have taught birth to age 26 in special education, teaching all disabilities and areas. I have taught in the regular education classroom in 6th grade Math, 5th grade Math and Science, Preschool, 4th grade Math and Science, 7th grade Math and worked with all levels of students. I volunteered as a Science Olympiad coach taking a middle school team to nationals four years in a row. I teach online virtual Master’s level classes in Child Development, Adolescent Development, Special Education, Assessment, Math in Elementary School and Texas teacher certification courses. I am a Parenting partners teacher and have years of parenting advice, help and support. I worked as a parenting instructor for children’s services.

In the state of Texas, I am certified as a Generalist EC-4 and 4-8 grades, Special education EC-12th grade, Principal certification, ESL/EL certification and GT hours. I have also been certified in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and MO. I let those certifications expire when we moved to Texas.

I have vast knowledge of IEP/ARD development, goals/objectives, the IEP process and IEP laws as stated by the Federal government and state governments. I have extensive knowledge on accommodations and modifications for both the IEP and 504 process. I was on a campus RTI team, district curriculum team and have created numerous curriculums for student learning and growth.

My personal statement on education is that all students can learn if they have the right teacher.
